Although koei decided to change everyone's classic weapons, obviously, i would like the option of picking the classic weapons for creating officers. ide also like the new weapons too, but i figured having them all available would be stellar. Also some varied and/or broader armor options. Maybe a little samurai influence, like Zhou Tai's armor in DW5E. He looked bad .

Thoughts...

So what you're saying is you'd like to only do 6 attacks then stop while every other character does around 10 attacks, then resets and does it again, and again, and again, etc., etc.. Frankly, I don't see how it would go with the rest of the game.

Or maybe he doesn't necessarily doesn't want to change the moveset, just the weapon. But that'd be somewhat difficult for many characters like Sun Ce, who would then be using his tonfas like a spear Huh

Well of course! Spearonfas!

That aside however, one thing I'd like are some more voice options. It was kind of annoying only having the three, as it got repetitive after awhile.

Lookin To Better Empires

« Reply #83 on: February 03, 2009, 02:40:44 am »

Someone mentioned the old moveset system...were you had to upgrade you weapon to do more attacks. I think they'll have to go back to that system cause if it's anything like DW5:Empires, the enemies are pretty far apart from eachother on some of the maps...So while they enemies doin 10 attacks on you...you'll be doin about 4.

But I just got done playin some DW5:Empires and a few suggestions came to mind for the character creation.

{--Creating Your Character--}

Here's a few things that would rock to change/add. I'll go with DW5:E's character creation format. I'll bold what's added/changed:

Name: Your character's name.

Nickname: The name you're character will be called when referred to by other characters. Nicknames like The Blue Demon, or The Enforcer, etc

Gender: Male or Female...pretty simple.

Face: What your character looks like.

Apperance: What gear they'll wear and colors. Please add some more features to this section. Such as tattoos, shirtless, mask, and scars. Also the color of your gear should show as the color of your soldiers. Oh and please add black to the options of color.

Body: How tall/short you are along with if you're skin, built, or "chubby"

Motion: What weapon you wanna go with. DW4's spear, pike, and sword should be readded to this. Along with being able to see the complete motion of the weapons while in edit mode.

Stance: How your character holds the weapon. Players would go through a list of stances from other characters. Like, I would love to hold the Zhou Tai's sword the same way as Guan Ping, only without the sheath.

Skill: What skill your character will have. Fire, Rally, Speed, Defense, Attack, etc.

Voice: What your character will sound like when they talk. Please add more voices then three. Also, it would be nice to be able to pick what they say at each event (base captured, enemy defeated, enemy captured, etc). Like sentences you can go through from what other characters say and add them to your character.

Flag: What your flag will be when you start your campign. More info on this further down.

Bodyguards: What your bodyguards will look like and what weapon they'll use. Just like on DW4. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! LOVED'EM!

Pet: What pet will accompany your character. Tiger or dog...if they don't readd the bodyguards. Requires Collar

They took out Items, remember? How can you have a collar without having Items? (And if you say they should bring back the items, I'm going to scream. It was pointless all along, and there's a low chance they'll bring it back.)

Well, I know that whenever I had bodyguards, I just ran out too far and left them behind. I never really was too fond if them.

The spear, sword and pike weapons from DW4 were just Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei, Sun Jian, Ma Chao, etc., etc.. And once again, it'd be impossible with the Renbu system. You said you wanted the old system back, but I much prefer the Renbu system.

What I'd like to see is a weapon creator. You chose what moveset you'd be using, then pick from a bunch of different pieces to design the weapon. So if you were making a sword, you'd chose the blade shape, color, any special designs on it, the hilt, hilt color, hilt designs and accessories (like tassels, gemstones, etc.).

Agreed, i dont want to change the moves, and i dont want the weapons to be linked to their characters, i just want the option to choose all the old weapons when i create a new officer. like when you made a guy and chose Broadsword, thats just a generic weapon. make the tonfas and all the like available to create with.

I think it would be neat to be able to choose the type of force you command (nanman, yellow turban, generic soldiers) as well as its color, if you are the ruler  and I would like to see a return of the "female soldier" unit as selectable in this field.  They already have the model from SSX's cutscenes, and I think having more choices for the force appearances can make your army feel more unique and that would make the game more enjoyable.

Have you ever played Fallout 3? That customization mode is totally awesome! You could have a self portrait of yourself and have your character totally like that. That's what I want for DW6 Empires. And I want something like a weapon creator.

I played the Phantasy Star games, and in those games there is a lot of Character Customization within it; maybe some of those ideas can be used in Dynasty Warriors also.

Maybe they could do the next game from the perspective a nameless soldier.  Like you start out as a regular footsoldier with crappy stats, but work your way up the food chain.  If they did this, they could easily allow customization, without worrying about defying historical facts.  But that doesn't mean they should remove the mosou selection either.  Another thing i think would be cool is bringing back the bodyguard squads from dw4, it was cool having you own posse of elite soldiers to follow you around.  Finally i think it would be cool if you could create and raise your horse like in the panzer dragon game for sega saturn, choosing what aspects you want for your horse.  Now that i think about it, this could lead to a whole new section of the game.  If they did allow you to create your own character, bodyguards, and horse, why not allow you to buy houses.  This would add an RPG element to it, you could start off in a hut and find yourself in a large castle or something.  Though this would only work into the game if they made it more free roaming, (allowing the player to move around outside of battle and visit places during time of peace.  While in such a place the player could do side missions or work on buying or unlocking things.  Of course all of this a giant "what if", but it would be really cool (at least to me) if they did a splash of RPG to this recipe of awesomeness.

LIKE WHAT U SAID I AGRRES BUT SUM OF TH STUFF LIKE WIT HUTS IS MOST LIKELY TO MUCH FOR KOIE. THEY REALY ARE LAZY

BUT= "Maybe they could do the next game from the perspective a nameless soldier.  Like you start out as a regular footsoldier with crappy stats, but work your way up the food chain."

{THEY DID THIS IN LEGENDS} IT WAZ COOL HAVE'N YA OWN LITTLE GROOP OF GUYS FIGHT'N AND HELP'N, BUT AFTER LIKE DO'N IT LIKE 2-3 TIMES WAZ BORNING.
