If you are installing or running the PC demo and receive an error, "d3dx9_36.dll not found"

You can download the d3dx9_36.dll file from the link below. This file should then be placed in the Koei\DYNASTY WARRIORS 6 Playable Demo folder on your system.

If you're talking about opening the dll file then you're not quite doing it correctly.

As EvilRuler said, place the .dll file into the demo's folder and it should work. Mine did fine once I placed it there.

I downloaded the file, and it seemed to work, but now the problem isn't it not finding the d3dx9_36.dll file, now it just says an error occurred and it has to close.  I reinstalled the program, and still the same message.

Any suggestions?

you have ffdshow video decoder Huh
after intall directx 9 later or 10 ,

try check your ffdshow video decoder on menu Output , please not mark all RGB
( i mark " RGB32" and "RGB 24"))
and not mark packed YUV , only mark one planar YUV ( i mark "YUV12")

why ?? because when i mark all , i get "d3dx9_36.dll not found" ,

Followed all your advices but I keep getting this "d3dx9_36.dll not found" error.
i don't get it, when I search for the file I can see it, so it isn't gone anywhere, in Microsoft support page they say (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319114) about these types of errors with dll files that: 1) file is either missing/deleted or damaged 2) the path calling that file is wrong... (in this post it says the same), so how am I supposed to find that 'path', any idea?
