Random crashes on duels and debates. I meet (and exceed) all required system specs. I have updated graphics drivers. It's really aggravating!!!!!!

Any idea on when a patch is going to be out to fix this?

i used to have the choose to debate crash but i've clicked have all debates/duels automated by ai in settings. although that takes away a bit from the game i am okay with it.

now what i can't handle is this unable to save pop-up. i usually save every 3rd month the whirlwind is a reminder for me to save. i can usually get through a little more than a year before i get the unable to save message. i have no problems when i quit and reload the game as i can save for another year or so. trouble is as my army gets larger and the battles pickup these 3 months become almost an hour of game play sometimes and i lose everything because of the unable to save popup.

i know i need to start saving after each 10 days and i will but this is really irritating. i have so many things i already try to remember in steps every 10 days this is just adding to the list of things to do. i guess it must be some sort of file that gets filled up in the save folder and wont allow further saves.

i will try compressing file on setup and see if that works. aside from the bugs i am really enjoying the game i am up to my 7th year with sun jian and am carefully preparing sun ce to take the reigns as soon as jian kicks the bucket.

i had rtk 3 and i've heard from others that they liked the 3 version better. i like 11 better. still koei's sega saturn "winning post" is my all-time favorite any game any console. (wwsm is #2 )

I have english version which i bought online. I was playing for awhile then it popped up " window has problem, window will shut down the game and will let me know if their is a solution."

I have different problem...This is my problem:

It happens rarely but had come about 2 or 3 time..When I moved Deng Ai (RTK XI officer), then clicked advance... My monitor became black, but, my cursor icon was still RTKXI's icon, the song was still going for a moment...Then HANG !!!
And I should have to rebooting my PC.

i enjoy this game ever since rotk 1 to 5 with english version.

finally after so many years of rotk 6 - 10 chinese, an english version of xi is out.

enjoy this game very much,

but very frustrated encounter this problem.

my game will freeze, program not responding. after a diplomatic cut scene.

eg. goodwill and break alliance.

is there any patch i can fix ? i try reducing graphics but still the same problem.

Does the crash only occur when you get the option to enter a debate during diplomacy?

It's a known bug causing the game to crash when debates and duels are set to "Choose".

If this is the cause of your error, set duels and debates to either "Watch" or "Don't Watch".

not debate or duels... is after diplomatic scenes like goodwill and breaking alliance.

It can happen if you break an alliance while you still have troops acting as reinforcements for your alliance.

Never had it occur during goodwill though.

the pirated version from emule causes crashes.
real paid version does not.

i'd say, please buy the  thing. it's just $19.

i am playing the original version and had the same problems as TC.
I just carried on playing and saving every 3-4 turns and I realised that the freeze will go off after playing the game for 1hr++...
The 1hr includes 2-3 times restarting the game due to freezes..

I guess it might be graphic cards problem and it is not really how good your graphic card is as I understand some players who have high-end graphic cards still experiencing the same problems...

So to conclude, wait for the patch if Koei is really working on it...

am having the exact problem as the O.P. It never happens on my Dell Laptop  but on my home PC it happens. I did, this time, chose to "ASK" on the duals and this is when I get my crashes only on the cut scene.

I have only played 3 scenarios in this game.

First, I played as Gongsun Zan on advanced in 189.  Conquered the north, conquered Cao Cao and Dong Zhuo.  Was named baron.  Crashes.

Second, I played as Liu Bei in the final scenario.  Beat and assimilate Sun Jian's forces, conquer Jing, grab Shu.  Made baron.  Crashes.

Finally, played as Liu Biao in his final scenario.  Absorbed Liu Bei, conquered Sun Quan, fought off Cao Cao, encroached on Liu Zhang, made Baron.  Crashed.

That was all about 4 months ago.  If a guy can't even play to win the game, what is the point?

I've figured out some problems as same as some posts here. Sometimes my game is crashed without reason, and, after I retry to play again from the saved game before it crash, the game will crash again...I try to find the problem, and I've found that when any player (you/AI) try to march the army with the leader that have "Deng" in the name (Deng Ai, Deng Zhi, Deng Xian..), and you(or computer) move the screen pass through or point at the scene that have "Deng"'s army, the game will crash immediately! After I try to avoid the "Deng" army (and not involve in any debate/duel with "Deng"), the game have rarely crash! (The last crash I've found is when my officer try to auto-recruit "Zhang Qiu", but I can pass this by NOT allow my officer to auto-recruit "Zhang Qiu").

However, the way to avoid "Deng" is really hard for Deng Ai, because Deng Ai is great officer and the AI always march him out. The only way out is to avoid to get the city around Deng Ai's city...or leave it to be the last city if you can. This is a lot harder to win the hard game level.

Anyway, I've one lucky time that I can play with Deng Ai. I try to change my computer resolution and run the game in window mode. The miracle thing is that I can play with Deng Ai's army in the scene!! However, on the next day, I've crashed again when I pass through Deng Ai's army, and, when I try to load my saved game (which I can load before), The screen is blank and I can't play my saved game!! (that may have Deng Ai near the scene)..Oh..My..God! T^T
