Sounds kind of embarassing, but while everyone is having fun with the game, I am stuck in the 1st Tutorial. I am not able to raise my revenue above 937, which the winning condition is above 1000.
I built a granary, one more farm. At the last building slot, I chose to build a few different kind of buildings already, but still doesn't work.
My harvest definitely raise above 16000. But what should I do in this 1st tutorial to raise money? Please Help???

bottom area have a mint surrounded by markets, top area have a granary surrounded by farms. Increase order to 100, because remember order determines revenue as well.
If that doesn't work, delete a farm at the top and build a market there, while maintaining 100 order. That should do it.

You remember Guan Yu saying that your income is affected by Order, don't you? Do some Inspections to boost your Order, and that'll give you the full income that you need.

I used to play BKoAC alot (well that was 20 years ago almost?) so I was happy to see KOEI come back to the PC, but I must say I'm not really getting this game...
First of all why are there no hotkeys??!?!?
Seriously, ported from PS2 or whatever, but some hotkeys would be majorly helpful.
Second I seem to have great difficulty in attracting new officers, though I've only had the game for a night so my time trying things isn't long, but if you search with a recruiter you don't need to search again to find officers right? You still may want to search for other reasons...
Third, when you set up a scenerio what are you supposed to do with the Officer Assignment screen? I basically did nothing with it since I thought that it was if you wanted to change the starting officers in the scenerio, and well, I have no idea about anything so I figured leaving it alone would just be default.
Fourth, I started the Yellow Turban scenerio and picked (can't remember names...) a starting position in the north with one city. After building up some markets and what not I finally made a horse army and sent it out since I had no open cities, and I really didn't care about the diplomacy I just wanted to try some military things. Two turns after my army leaves I get some message that my city went over to some one else and GG.
Ehh, so yeah, help?
Thanks

I imagine there's a couple, check the manual? Most of the game is handled by the mouse, though. It's not a PS2 port, it's a port of the original PC version.

Officers aren't split up evenly, they're found in pre-set locations (unless you turn Debuts to Fictional in the pre-game settings). If you have an officer with the Enlister skill, he'll be guaranteed to find an officer if one is available to find in your city. The 'officer stock' is replenished each new year, with new officers being added to cities as they come of age. Again, under Historical Debuts, the same officers appear in the same cities in set years, whereas in Fictional they could appear anywhere.
If you're playing as a minor force, particularly one in an out of the way area, it might be wise to set Debuts to Fictional to improve your chances of finding good officers.

It allows you to place the officers you create into the game and build your own force, if you choose, or otherwise add them to existing forces. You create officers in the Settings menu.

I don't personally recommend the Yellow Turban scenario, as only half of the land is really 'at play'. Dong Zhuo's Rise and Rival Warlords spread people out through China much more evenly, so they're usually better scenarios to try.
As for your city, another force recruited the officer you left as Prefect, and he took your city with him. Always use Personnel - Reward commands to ensure your officers are loyal to you. An officer with 94 loyalty and above won't defect, but loyalty can decline over time, so I recommend trying to keep everyone at 100.

Ok, thanks for the answers.
There are hot keys to move the map, but I want hotkeys to interact with the menus.
I hate all the extra clicking I have to do, though I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
Its a deep enough game, and a system I've been away from for long enough that I probably just need some time to get used to things.

So I tried the same scenario again releasing all the officers, but otherwise keeping things historical.
I still was not able to recruit anyone from my first city, but I took An Ding after a couple months with a small force, and once I had 2 cities it seemed that I could recruit just about anyone where I didn't get the adviser telling me it was impossible. So is it easier to recruit when you are 'stronger'? I liked in Bandit Kings how you could get info on what you needed to do to recruit various officers but I don't see that info in RTK...
Shortly after I took An Ding, Deng Zhou(? I don't know the names of the characters, obviously...) started sending forces to attack An Ding, but I was able to support with more horse from Wu Wei(?) and defeated 4 of his armies. However, I was only able to take a couple prisoners, and one was after defeating him in a duel. So what happened to those officers of the defeated armies? did they die or something? Just go back to their city?
Also how long does it take to recruit prisoners?
Thanks again

Officers will almost always escape from battles if their units were finished off by ranged attacks. Melee attacks stand a better chance of catching them, and far better still if you have an officer involved in that final attack who has the Capture trait. If you fail to capture an officer, they will move back towards a city of the force they've joined, and if that force has been destroyed, they'll become a free agent.
As for recruiting prisoners, it depends on how sympathetic their leader is to yours, which has to historical relationships and hidden numerical factors. For example, I captured Bian Shi from He Jin, and her loyalty gradually declined to 78--but she would never join my faction. A glance at her bio shows that she was intensely loyal, so I suspect that may have something to do with it.
Watch out for escapes, by the way. If most of the officers you have in a city are engaged in tasks, prisoners may take the opportunity to escape.

Well there's not much I can do about 'guarding' the prisoners as I only have 11 officers split between my two cities and they are all pretty busy getting ready for the next wave...
Somehow he has constantly 25k troops in his city, while I am struggling to build back up after his first attacks...
It will be some time before I can go on the offensive I guess, but a couple well placed turrets should allow me to defend one front with minimal troops while I create an army of at least 15k to take the fight to him.
Another question forms though...
When you reward your officers where does the money come from? I assume it comes from the city where you selected the function, but it seemed I could reward any officer (no matter location) from any city. So I should always use my main money city to do this as I am a bit cash starved in An Ding...
Also at what point is it worth turning over control of a city to my officers? Is it a question of when you start to run out of APs to do everything you want to do?

Just some notes from a passing player.
A. If a character who has a Spouse, Oath with someone outside your force the the character will never join you because Oath people tend to stick together, same as husband and wife. AKA Bian Shi is married to Cao Cao and thus will never join a force that Cao Cao is not in, like wise Cao Cao will not be in a different force from Bian Shi. However One or the other can be a free officer. If both are then they can be recruited.
B. If an advisor has Int. Less than 86 then by all means search and recruit against their advice because odds are it won't work when they say it will.
C. If you are playing Ma Teng you do not trust your adviser on anything!
D. If an officer is captured they remain so inside the unit they were captured in until
The Unit is destroyed
The Unit enters a City, Bulwark, Port
The officer is recruited
If you keep this in mind an officer inside a unit can be there indefinitely if proper food is transported to the unit.
E. The more troops you have, and the more officers you have in a city will determine how long the prisoner stays in that city. It is not recommended to keep an officer inside a city instead of a unit. Some with High Stats or Novel Significance can escape at any time regardless of preparations.
F. If you have a prisoner the loyalty will decrease at the end and start of every month. The "between" period. However depending on novel significance or liked relationships the officer may not lose loyalty at the same rate. The Cai family will lose loyalty quickly, same as most minor warlords officers. Yu Jin and Lu Bu are major officers that lose Loyalty rather quickly.
G. There are few officers who are basically known for Unparalleled loyalty. This includes Dian Wei and close Xiahou/Caos under the Cao family, Zhao Yun Zhuge Liang Xu Shu and the Guan family under the Liu Bei/Chan faction. The early members of the Sun Family faction, IE Huang gai, Cheng Pu, Zhu Mao, etc.
H. The Forces who secure a corner expand quickly.
Especially in the North East.

I. Including the 32 unlockables from the Tutorial and the 8 from challenge mode there are 10 secret female bonus characters unlocked when you have two marriage trigger events. Not when you activate them yourself.
J. Food is gained at the end of ever Season, Gold at the end of every Month. To improve this the skill Wealth and Levy are needed. Wealth increases gold income by 1.5 and levy increases food cultivation by 1.5. If this does not satisfy you then there are additional skills. Taxation allows for gold income to arrive at the end of every turn. There is a similar one for food cultivation that gives food every month. Taxation is only held by two officers. Ying Zheng, other wise known as Qin Wang or Qin Shi Huang Dee and Dong Zhou. These officers are a blessing and should not be executed or released when captured.
K. Recruit is a command that occurs once for every barrack you control. Normally giving between 1000-2500 per recruiting with a healthy amount of officers. with an additional Barrack you could add 2000-5000 troops to your control a turn. However with the use of Fame you could gain troops similar to having two barracks in one recruit. Yuan Shao, Zhang Miao, Cheng Pu, Wei Feng have this skill
L. An officer with Capture always captures an officer in taking control of a city/Bulwark/Port only three officers have this skill. Pan Zhang, Ma Zhong, and Wei Guan. This does not work if unit is destroyed by magic/ploy/strategy or at a range.
does not prevent death of officer in duel
M. A Smith allows for an increase in equipment for your troops. In either Bows, Spear, or Pike. Normally an average increase in one of these is between 1000-2500 if you create a second smith you can double that to 2000-5000 OR, if you control an officer with the skill efficiency, you could have the results of two smiths with only one. This is a rather common skill.
N. To create horse you need a stable. Same as with the smith it would produce 1000-2500 or you could double it with two or triple it with three. The skill to get the amount of two for one is Breeding. Notably Ma Teng has this skill.
O. Now siege weapons are tricky things. It could take anywhere from 20 days = 2 turns to 90 days = 9 turns. Now depending on how many facilities you have you can make multiple ones as they are being made. However there is a skill called invention. It automatically cuts production time down to 60 days maximum. However you can make one in 10 days if you have high stat officers.
P. Ships, and shipyards. In the north most officers are poor with naval warfare despite the river dividing Hei Bei from the rest of China. The AI of those forces never create a Shipyard and thus have no ships. However, I would recommend that you do in the north. In the south its a necessity but in the north with you having ships it is a blessing. You could easily over power Hei Bei with ships, or you could take a scenic route and take Xiang Ping with ships. Or in vice versa.
Q-Z to be continued...

Wow...
Thanks for the data dump!
I went on the offensive, but it failed... I didn't send enough forces, and didn't have deputies in any of my forces, so I lost my main army due to screwing up in a duel, though if I had a swap I would have won easilly...
Also didn't use the ranks at all, becuase I didn't realize what it was
so my armies were smaller
Thuogh I started over with the same settings, and this time after grabbing An Ding I had a much tougher fight to push back the 1st forces sent at me. However, after finally beating them I had been much smarter about how to use my officers in recruiting and development, so within a season I was able to send out ~30k troops with 2 armies of spears (~10k) 3 armies of Horse (~15k) and 1 tower (~5k). Actually I think my troop size was a little bigger as one of the horse armies came a few turns later. Anyway, Deng came out with over 20k in 3 armies, and later reinforced with another 10k, but my forces were superior to his, even though he did pull a nice fireball on me, though I was able to manuver enough with 6 armies to drive his forces in a couple of the fires as well.
Eventually I was left with ~20k troops (included another reinforcement army) and he was left with ~8k in his city which I sacked in a few turns, a few turns later I was able to recruit all his officers, though Deng himself was executed after losing a duel.
The best part was hiring one of his officers commanding 5k spears in the middle of the fight. I would have won anyway, but getting that army just made things go alot more quickly.
So now I've got those 3 cities in the North West and apparently need to get a 4th so open up the higher ranks for my officers with over 8k deeds. I left An Ding to be self run with 6 officers (is that enough? Too many?) as my APs were too low for me to get things done in a timely fasion. An Ding is fully developed though, so hopefully they will just focus on building military and arms.
I don't really know what to do next, but I suppose I'll just start attacking towards the East after I get my forces redrilled and built up again.
Is there a way to automate food/gold transfers from one city to another? I can see that as you expand and war you won't want to deal with moving fresh troops/supplies from your rear areas to the front, but its unclear to me if the self governing cities will do this for you. Also what officer mix is best to leave for the self governance?
Oh, and I look forward to Q-Z when it comes

Self-governing/delegated cities can send transports. It's one of the options you get while delegating. Towards the bottom-right, it'll say "Transport?". Click there and pick which district you want it to send supplies to. No. 1 is your ruler's district.
An Ding is a front-line city, so I'd be careful about delegating it. If you're playing who I think you are, Wu Wei is probably a more secure city to automate, as it can't be invaded by anyone. Of course, in my experience, enemies in Chang'An usually prefer to attack Tian Shui to An Ding, so it might be a moot point.

Yes, I will eventually automate Wu Wei, but for the time being I wanted to control the horse production there. An Ding was picked becuase I had more officers there, but I'm not sure what a good number is for automation. Eventually I will reposition my officers though.
