Had a chance to link computers last night with a friend in Belgium, and play just for a bit (beyond the tutorials in the demo).  Looks great.

What scenario would you recommend for learning the game?  Also, does the advanced AI setting give your AI opponents more resources, or only take away the resource advantages you had under the beginner AI setting?

Advanced, just starts the computer with more resources and equipment.

The Yellow Turbans scenario is the best for getting used with the game, create a force in the remote free cities, away from the main action. Use either the characters you unlock from completing the Tutorials, or some created characters, to create the force.

You have to complete the tutorial to unlock the characters?  Please tell me that unlike the demo, you can save your progress.  I don't always have a couple of hours to devote at a time to the game.

Sure, of course the actual game is saveable.

I worded that badly.  I meant can you save your progress in the tutorial.

Well, that's good news.  I remember finding the tutorials long-winded.  Having to go through them again would not rank as my favorite thing to do.

So, The Yellow Turbans scenario?  Thanks for the suggestion.  Much appreciated. Smiley

I found the Rise of Heroes type scenario the easiest to learn how to play on. Just choose a force like Sun Jian/Liu Bei/Cao Cao and you're good to go.

Protip: A very good idea at the start of them game if you have  many officers is to build a Diplo building (makes gifts cheaper) and then send an rival force 3 or so gifts. After that, it'll be fairly easy to get them to ally with you.

I'll enter and state that:

For learning how to use your domestic abilities, use Yellow Turban.

For learning how to battle, use Rise of Heroes. ROH is a fast paced scenario, the action kicks off pretty fast.

What is a "diplo building?"  I don't recall reading anything about that when playing the tutorial.

The idea is to find a way of converting it to English for the PC, and making it compatible with the current PC/English main program.  Do it, and I will be the first to nominate you for a Nobel Prize for Literature. Cheesy

Heh, if only i could find the time to learn Chinese. Still, i would never have the patience with coding and modding games, unless it turns out to be easier than i think it sounds Tongue
