I can't remember the specifics, but my highest combo(recently, I stopped playing for awhile) has been IX, done with Zhang Fei and Guan Yu. I feel embarassed. Cry

so would you line up your enemies by luck ? or do you use a couple of tactics to push em where you want to ?

well personally im enjoying the game without taking it to the max Smiley  .. you know just your regular 6-9 combos defeating 2-3 enemies at once Tongue .. it's fun the long way Cheesy ..

but im gonna use Wolfgard's & Shu Fan's suggestions to help me enjoy the game even more Smiley

Thank you .. and im sure to have more questions soon

alright ..

Is Training Random ? or can it be controlled somehow ? at townsquares it rarely happens with me .

well your absolutely right Sun Ce's forces have the most bows ! i have atleast 25-30 officers
with Crossbows, heavy archers, archers, and bowmen and ya it helps with all the volleys I, II, fire volleys I, II . . . arrow, fire arrow and so on and so forth  . and a few pikemen and infantry .

well it's right that the above unit types and tactics are the best for good destructive combos but it is kind of difficult to line up your own officers so that they could participate in the combo .. the opposition constantly keeps changing their positions thus rendering my movements useless or incomplete  ..

maybe i just need to start thinking 2 - 3 moves ahead instead of one .

My friendly advice to avoid enemy units moving? Links.
If your startegists have tactics that can link several officers it would be easier to keep many of them inmobilized. Useful examples would be any Volley, Gather and Muddle II.

i don't quite understand the "semi-training" thing  . . i read the Sticky about the training but i got confused along the road .. i simply just get each officer to any townsquare for training or Villages for bandits to fight or a stat boosting dialogue .

Edit: how can you modify the battle camera ? it's annoying when it's too close  . .

Training is time-consuming, as well as optional, but it has its reward. If you keep only the officers with best training stats in a town and visit it for random encounters, those random encounters would get better bonuses. Saving and reloading if you don´t get good/enough bonuses till you get the results you´re aiming for can get you perfect stats for officers, but it´s VERY time consuming.
To modify the battle cammera, IIRC, it´s done with the R3 button.

Now my highest combo is either XII or XIII, done on Liu Bei's Epilogue. I can't exactly get the specifics of the combo (i.e. damage, order) at the moment, but here is pretty much who was included in it:

Liu Bei - infantry
Zhang Fei - pikemen
Zhao Yun - brigadiers (?)
Jiang Wan - infantry (?)
Pang Tong - engineers
Zhuge Liang - infantry
Jiang Wei - archers
Wei Yan - heavy archers (?)
Guan Suo - cavalry
Shang Xiang - archers
