Hey, can anybody tell me what Shingen's fan does? I beat him in the Mikawa battle and got the fan from Shingen's decoy I think. It's pretty much useless when I got it.

There is no fan I know of actually called "Shingen's Fan."  There are various fans that up certain stats when equipped as an accessory.

I forgot what the name of the fan was but I know you obtain it after the battle of Mikawa.

give me a little more than that.  are you talking about ch. 6, final battle of mikawa?  there is the Suwa-no-Kami War Fan located at the West side of northeastern mountains (from my walkthrough).  is this what you are talking about?  if so, what exactly is your question?

Yes about that, can it only be equipped with officers of the priest class? In a walkthrough I read, it said that it does, but I get mixed up between the names of the fans.

anybody can equip anything.  whatever walkthrough you are using, i suggest you stop, because that is ridiculous.

Hya, I'm new to this game (came to it via Samurai Warriors/Dynasty Warriors Series)
and I seem to have misunderstood the text on my game-cover:

It says there something like you can have your own officer(s), so I thought it would be like in SW/DW, but there's no option for it.

Am I completely wrong? Or can you create officers after playing through or something?

I have to say that I'm from Germany, so my game-cover is in german, perhaps they screwed up the translation...
You wouldn't believe what the translators here get away with...

there is no create a general feature.  if you have sw data, dw data etc, you unlock certain characters at the beginning of the game.  the american version back cover says this about officers, maybe this is where the translation comes from, maybe not. 
under action:
take control of a lone officer in rampager mode to raid enemy units.
under strategy:
choose the officers you take into combat and coordinate devistating assaults with support troops.
develop and customize officers with hundreds of weapons, armor, and strategic items.

Yep, then they definitely made it wrong, because I double checked, and they say on my cover (freely translated by me) "Evolve and create your own officers".
now I'm feeling quite betrayed. They do this all the time, and I always look for original UK or US versions of either computer games or console games for this very reason. Another reason is that they translate (and perform) even worse when it comes to in-game speech. You don't know really bad speech until you get hands on a game that got translated to german.

Even if this is probably not the thread for this, I like to give one example from DW5 (XL):
Huan Gai, in extreme mode, when coming to aid an important character, says something like:
"Alright already! Do I have to do everything around here?"
The german subtitle would be translated as this:
"Alright already! Is there something to do for me?"

And they do this for almost ALL the lines in SW/DW series.

And when I got Samurai Warriors...I was shocked to even have german speech.
And no option for turning it to at least japanese...

Anyway, KESSEN III is a great game, and since the languages are english and japanese, it is not that annoying to know the subtitles are basically lies.

I'm now as far as Chapter 5 (where I got my first serious pounding  ) and I just like it.

I agree with you that they are wrong about the CAG for Kessen 3 cover, But they might be right in the business terminology sense of the Term Create a general.
what I think Koei means is since you can change armour, helemets, units and add skills Each general in itself is a Create a general.
 Simply put: Customization of characters you play as makes them equal to CAWs.

its jingle- coercion.  i dont have a clue what level it is on though, but i know it is on a level.  i want to say it is a level where somebody betrays you, but it has been too long since i have done it.  wish i could be more help.

nasser, its been a long time, but i remember getting a few books.  if you can get an s ranking you get a couple of books and i think a horse maybe?  been 3 years or so.  you can use them on any save file.
