Did anybody else hear the new Metallica song The View? I thought it was pretty awful, but I'd love to hear someone else's opinion on it.

Lolololol. Sounded like st anger with an angry preacher I did like James vocals but lou reed is downright depressing. Everytime I hear that I laugh.  ....... Edit:
Well I'm confused..... Its not really an album. Do I have the right to hate it? It's a play with Metallica playing music and a old guy with disturbing lyrics. I think I'm gonna buy the album just so I can get the big picture of what the play is about. At 69, I gotta give it to lou reed for still working. Apparently his style is talking through his songs anyway. I will have an open mind and give lulu a chance. Either that or I will 'actively despise' this album.

LuLu is bad MZY....real bad. I don't know what the heck they were thinking with this thing, it isn't good by anyone's standards. Lou Reed fans will find it's too heavy, Metallica fans like me are like WTH. This is worse than St. Anger, and is the worst album to be released this year. I can only hope the next real Metallica album continues on the path Death Magnetic was on.

Has anyone heard the Death Magnetic EP release? Just wondering if it was any good. Also, are you guys ready for the next Metallica album? They say it's a heavier Black Album. Im excited!

2 months late but...

Yes I heard the release. I thought the songs that didn't make the cut for Death Magnetic, particularly Hate Train, should've, as they were actually pretty good.

As far as the new album, it may be ok, but at this point I'm not expecting anything amazing.

Anyways, I haven't been too much into Metallica lately. I still think(opinion everybody) original with Cliff Burton as bassist is best Metallica. On a side note, I have not heard their new original song, but I will have to check it out definatley.

Their most recent live performances have James putting more metal into his voice. It looks like they are trying to go back to old skill Metallica. I just hate that they use that e flat crap tuning. I miss the old live tone. I can get better live tone from my much less expensive Peavey amp.
