Only the negative effects get canceled. You get a bigger boost than using chimera shell and lions fang separately. And having upgraded elements is always good. The higher your flame is, the more damage the fire takes away. The higher your ice is, the better chance you have of freezing someone. As for wind, it's the same as ice. The damage stays the same. It just increases the chance of hitting that high impact attack. As for bolt, well I have no idea.
