The mind shall vanquish the sword

« on: July 31, 2011, 08:31:13 pm »

Information you must know: I plan on making this a more than one book series. I do intend on dividing the book into parts in the near future (Book 1: Part 1, ect.) and if you haven't already, read my other topic posted here and I will frequently be updating that topic with posts. But in the mean time, I will write my ideas into chapters, I can always go back and profreed my writing.

Chapter 1: The Seven Stars(Introduction)

July 24: 3: 214:(journal entry from Kantu, Prince of Farehaven): It is said that the Seven Stars represented gods and goddesses of war, and are the keys of unlocking unimaginable powers, some in peaceful terms and some destructive. One of these Seven Stars sought power and tried to unite his brothers and sisters into a great, seductive power to rule the universe. He failed and was put to rest. However, before his collapse of power did he create ever such forces of corruption, a mass army, known to us Humans as "orcs" to purge the world of peace and serenity bestowed in our hearts. That is how the world was thrown into disruption at first. Man soon sought to rule over other men, thus began the first ages of the world on Sanctuary.
Forcing a gopher down it's hole is easy, but getting him out is always difficult. Killing of a first army of orcs was too simple, but an army even greater coming in the century to come was harder to overcome. For three-thousand years, we have fought these "creatures" back to their holes. The Hanso, whose brave hearts withstood two enemies at the same time and abilities have been tested against mighty adversaries, fought in many wars. Over the years, we have defended our homes against the mighty elements as of the mighty enemy, but we have seemed to pull through. My father, Hanso, the king, as been informed by the Podrako that a new threat has arrived and will form an alliance with our former enemy, the Djonse. Apparently this is of some great threat that my father has allied with his enemies. The Djonse agreed without fear, and our actions I do intend to be...rash and unintelligent.

But now father has come to me with terrible news. Siding with our enemies to stop a new threat from the Western oceans, on which we knew not of a soul who lived on some strip of land? They bring different weapons, strange talk, and a dark deception of which not even the orcs surpass. They take lands unwillingly. They have taken a Podrako port by force and are expanding it into a city. I don’t know what to say to this, other than it is a matter of great importance, far more important than any other problem that the orcs and demons have caused so far. If the Westerneese use this to an advantage to travel back and forth, trading off information to one another about Tunisia, than we are all doomed. I will see what father will do about this matter. If it may be done, I wish to send me and a thousand of our strongest Calvary and five thousand of our strongest ground soldiers to aid the Podrako. This act of cruelty will not go on any father. Shall I speak to my father of this, this morning? ‘Tis a matter of great importance. I shall go to him today.
"Sir," said a servant. "Sir, you called?" Kantu rose from his seat and walked to the lady. "...I'm sorry. I forgot, but...excuse me for this time while I recover what I was to have you do for me."

Kantu sat on his bed. “How now,” said he. “How must it come to this? Since the nature of our troubles is already in grave horror. I don’t know how we can match two different threats at the same time. My skills…have grown to a magnificent level. Since the day I started training under Mr. Rohoto. He fought an army of 1,000 orcs by himself, and I was there to witness it…”

…Young Kantu has found himself training with his master, Rohoto Shamus, in the mountainous forest near Farehaven. “Speed and endurance are important when evading your opponents,” says Rohoto. “You must use the obstacles around you to your advantage.” He stood there on a tree branch valiant. His large straw hat shadowed his eyes. His black robe grown just above his feet and his sandals surrounded his feet. He jumped backwards from tree branch to tree branch, and Kantu followed him as fast as he could. His legs were trembling after only minutes of jumping from tree branch to tree branch. The swiftness of Rohoto remained steady and endured, however, but Kantu lost his balance and fell down to the forest floor, after landing and breaking on hundreds of branches on his way down.
Shamus jumped down to the forest floor. "You fool," he shouted. "You'll wake the whole hoard!" Just then, snapping sounds came from behind them, about a few yards away. "Run," he said to Kantu. "Run and tell your father what happened here. Send for some help. Go!" He pulled out his giant sword and prepared for battle. Kantu ran out of the forest, but hesitated as he ran out. He then turned back around. "Master!" He threw his giant blade and Shamus caught it. Kantu ran out of the forest, hoping that one day Shamus would return.
