I play as Liu Bei and in 204 and in Xin Ye right now. In 203 I tried to search for him every single turn but he didn't show up. Now I use Liu Bei to search and still he does not show up. Is there any way to get him? He does not appear yet (I check All Officers), but I don't know how to get him. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Zhuge Liang shouldn't show up until 208.  And in different states depending on which scenario you play.  It would be nice if someone had a list per scenario.

I believe it's Xiapi until Tao Qian is gone in 200, and then it's Chaisang.

I believe his appearances are:
184 and 190: Xia Pi
194: Chai Sang
198 and 200: Xiang Yang
207: Xin Ye.
Edit: I definitely remember he appeared in Xiang Yang in the 200 scenario more than once, and I think 198 is the same.

Thanks all for the reply. I play the 194 scenario. It's 205 now and he is nowhere to be found. Do I need to trigger the "3 visits" events? How to do so?

Like Armee said, he becomes available in 208. Since you started in 194, he'll appear in Chai Sang. Just Search for him there when the time comes.

At the first turn of 208, he will become a free, hidden officer like any other officer that becomes available. Anyone can find and hire him. Liu Bei has the three visits event but I have no idea what triggers it.

Pretty sure the only requirement is that the three brothers have to be in the same city as Zhuge Liang, (also, it happens at specific times) could be wrong about that though.

Basically there are 4 types of officers, There are those serving a lord(vassal prefect viceroy etc), there are free officers (show up on the recruit list) hidden officers (can be recruited, must be searched) and inactive officers (cannot be recruited yet)

Zhuge Liang is an inactive officer until the year 208. Once it becomes 208, he is a "hidden" officer. So it doesnt matter who you are, if it is before 208, he'll be inactive and you wont be able to find him.

Hope that cleared that up
