Now what would happen if you brought the hero's of ancient China. Then put them in today's time period. Say (for example) Cao Cao was president of the United States. Or Liu Bei was the current leader of China. Or just simply how they would react to today's time period.

Oh, crud!

Cao Cao - Being as president, prime minister, ect., he would be a horrible leader in these times of war. He would be sending like a million troops (lol over exagerating) to stop it. But that would have us open for an attack. Well, idk, I'm not keen on Cao Cao's behavior.

Liu Bei - Well as a leader, he would be one of the kindest people.

Zhang Fei - HOLY COW!! He'll be going to the bars every night and get in fights.

That's all I have to say.

Right, because Cao Cao's long career was made up of him doing something stupid like that

Cao Cao: If in a peaceful western world, he would waste some of his father's money in his early days but eventually be persuaded to take on a better role. Possibly in politics though would be noted for his romance poetry and his love of woman will damage his career, he will still reach high office. Not the highest office however

Liu Bei: Politics if he can get a lucky break. Once there, his charm and lack of noted vices, plus his ambition and cunning, will see him high rise. His kind rhetoric and his undoubted charisma will see him get the highest office in the land but errors, corruption, turning out to be just another political man will harm his reign.

He Yan: One of the leading liberal thinkers but his love of drugs and his effeminate behaviour prevent him running for office and sees him vilified. His arrogant behaviour ends up with him alienated and he dies a sad old death

I would say a majority of the warriors would not make a good conversion into modern society. Their strength, drive, and loyalty may remain, but in modern warfare agility, perceptiveness, and awareness keep men alive. Courage or their ability to lead would separate them from the average soldier.

We don't live in a soceity based too much on inheritance. Any of the second generation officers that we know would not be given the same chances they had then that they would face now, they would have to build their own profile up.

The men of the political arena would fair well in modern politics. Sima Yi would shine. He would never become a President, but the man behind it all that we do not see. Zhuge Liang would not take up interest in the cruel realm of backstabbing politics. Guo Jia, Jia Xu, and Zhang Zhao may all have promising futures. Zhou Yu, Pang Tong, and Ju Shou have good chances at politics as well.

I think what is being meant here is if they were born and raised in the modern world buy had the same personalities. Environment has a lot to do with how a person defines and eventually becomes who they are. Would the world today allow for these great men of the past to become great men of the present? That is a very hard thing to determine.

I would imagine most of them would go into politics. I doubt you would get many of the scholarly types anymore. Something about the way the world operates today, what with the emphasis on being politically correct and having diverse skill sets seems to conflict with them. I dont know, just a thought.

The military men? their fate is quite up in the air if you ask me (which you technically did.)
I mean, think about Lu Bu. Hailed as one of the strongest men of his time, possibly due to a larger stature giving him a better swing/bow draw. For starters, he wouldnt be such a rarity (still rare, but less so.) He also wouldnt have an advantage for reach or draw, because guns and tanks dont need that. In fact, you could say being a larger target puts him at a disadvantage.

Also many of the tacticians in war would have new things to take in to account. The major shift being with air deployment/travel.

Putting all that simply, a lot of famous people wouldnt be famous.

well yeah but when some one is born with a drive to be something no matter what time period you live in or are put into nobody can change that for it is fate, but maybe not that take over an army and try to claim the land for yourself

Well that is true, but what I'm saying is even with that drive, some people wouldnt have the oppertunity to make anything of themselves, because the skills they have would not be valued now as they were then.

Like men who are only good at duels. If you challenged a enemy officer to a duel today. He would shoot you in the face. Duel over

I also would judge that men like He Jin. Would probably not get anywhere. He would stay a average butcher all his life. He would never get anywhere however that is simple.

That depends. He Jin was only the Chief Commander of the Han because he was related to the Emperor by marriage. If he was in the same situation today, he would be well known and maybe be in a position of importance.

His ability to charm, to rise up the ranks despite opposition and a fairly able head, it is something he could use. Think he could make good connections and so get somewhere in the world, probably not as high as he did but still something pretty decent. Head of a charity or some major business
