I think it was shut down due to the fear that certain members (not to point fingers or name names) might begin starting their own polls and this forum would become nothing more than a bunch of popularity contests running at once.  Having one thread at a time should be fine, but it needs to stay on topic and be about why people feel that their nominees should win or how, in this case, helpful the members are.

Making your own thread with only 2 options that you yourself picked is nothing more than spam.

is this going to continue? i ongly made the pole for fun i ongly had two names to start becausr of the hastle the other one was causing and i thaught jinkodragonmiamoto wouldnt disagree. obviously every one now beleves i did it maliciously i didnt and i appologise if it seamed so

Until August first anyone can recommend a criteria for the next poll. The criteria that get's the most recommendations will be the subject of the next election. If no one recommends anything then I'll have to come up with something.

I've got an Idea. Send everyone a PM ( if it is possible ) urging them to vote in the next poll we have. This will stop people from moaning that it wasn't a fair vote. They can't now because everyone was invited to vote. Easy

They seem most acceptable and nothing of the naive category.

Since the general consensus is that it counts, I guess the winner via poll election for most helpful member was me.

Since I already won an election once already I think that people who 'win' shouldn't be allowed to be nominated again. The reason being is that we don't want one or two or three people winning every time, it elevates the individuals who won to some near mythical status among the members and it limits the opportunities for others to be nominated and win an election figuring because they can only nominate one person at a time.

Does anyone else agree?

I do agree, multiple elected officials would only cause problems and though I wish not to think it, jealousy would become an issue. Even on this board, there are some who can become easily poisoned.

So far there are two nominations for most involved member, anyone want to make another suggestion?

For instance I was going to make it 'most active member' if no one made a nomination.

I think the positions should change every month and there should be more than one.For example,1 for U.S,1 for canada,1 for europe and I think there's suposed to be more

That would be really pointless, most of the people here are from the US and Canada, there are a few from Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Europe (by far the largest of the few, most of them are English), and China. Even so almost everyone here is an American (with a sizeable amount of Canadians). Having one for the US, one for Canada, and one for Europe would be pointless because of that. Koei in Europe has it's own forum and the one here is meant for the US and Canada anyways. Koei corp. is based in California.

That would require people coming here and stating "I live in Canada". We don't have access to people's countries of origin. It would be difficult to do and it would be tedious work. Besides it would divide the positions into locations and it would get rid of the point of this being everyone in the community getting together and nominating people. We are all equals here, it doesn't matter if one of us is a professor, a student, or a car salesman. Everyone get's to nominate a person, and everyone get's to vote. It's about growing closer, not dividing us up.

It's not practical, and in the long run it's not particularly good to do it. But, like everything I do here, it's up to the people of the board to decide how this goes. If everyone wants to do it by US and Canada as separate entities then I'll go along with it.
