i think there is something with 1 of your cables, thats a fixable light, if its 3 red lights then its broke if its 2 red lights then its overheated, and if its 4 1 of the cables are missing.

well finally got the red light, taking it in for cleaning (its only 1 bar, so i think it is repairable, if it was 3, then i would take it to the dumpster right now

You wouldn't really wanna do that now would you? lol. XBOX gives a free repair for first time customers and you should then buy a three year warranty. They also give you a 1 month free gold membership. (My personal experience, its not bad how its been made out. I'm sure people can wait a week, if you can't. That means you really need a break.)

People complain about the red light because they say the system is a total utter failure. Truthfully if you leave it on over night expect a red ring but in the end its your fault.

Exactly! Some people are so stupid sometimes. "I'm gonna go get a ps3 because it doesn't have as many problems as an Xbox," big whoop! 360 has so many better games that are exclusive for it, plus the gold membership features are really nice; Netflix, Last.fm, and it is all really organized.

Yeah the Slim looks so amazing. I might mod the case on my old XBox 360 Arcade if I get the Slim.

u shouldnt mod xboxs, microsoft are serious about all that, some kid modded loads of xboxs and as soon microsoft found out, he got arrested, i dont think the kid was even 11

So long as it's only modding the exterior aesthetically then there shouldn't be a problem, if it's another kind of modding, however, then Microsoft ( and us! ) will be handing out some slaps.

Just to say, my old xbox broke recently (red rings) and I got the slim last week. So far, it's absolutely the same in everything I do. Nothing has changed, apart from an awesome little beep it makes when you open the disk or turn it on, which makes me giggle everytime

Other than the beep though, like I said, nothing's new. Of course, kinnect hasn't come out yet, which I look forward to buying immediately.

Of course, the cosmetic changes are absolutely AWESOME!
