Okay...

I usually play until I get a big enough advantage that no other force can rival me and usually it occurs before I can become emperor (unless I'm Yuan Shu).

And generally, I play on Advanced with High Battle Deaths.

Yan Baihu is currently my favorite; however, it seems somewhat random and I guess it's that randomness that makes it interesting.

But I need a good solid challenge, for this game, I'll keep a slight record and post the happenings on here to inform the forum of my conquest.

Any suggestions for a force?

I've gotten "far" with

Dong Zhuo's Rise
Gongsun Du
Kong Zhou
Liu Yu
Zhang Lu

Rival Warlords

Gongsun Du
Li Jie
Liu Yao
Wang Lang
Yan Baihu
Yuan Shu
Zhang Lu

I can't play as Lu Bu; I'm weird, I don't like Lu Bu -- I prefer building up my own military leaders rather than starting with the unstoppable Lu Bu.

I usually use Gan Ning, Jiang Qin, and Zhou Tai -- I form my pirate band and turn them into my grand generals.

Hmm... I'll probably post the legendary conquest of Yan Baihu...

And I'll post it in the RTKXI PC section...

Three posts is unecessary for the content... anyways... yan baihu was always a fun challenge. Still I must say that gongsun gong during the Liu Bei in "Jing" scenario. One mediocre officer against the world!

History is... amazing, but it is also tragic. It is a story of never ending heroism, deceitfulness, wonder, pain, and tragedy. It is an unfinished epic, an unsolved mystery. There is so much we do not know, and there is so much we have yet to learn.

you want a challenge? create a cc with the lower possible stats, no skill and worst aptitudes. then have that cc be the ruler of some open city in a scenario where the three kingdoms have evolved or where there's a good amount of enemies. like the fictional scenario. Hell- have the cc's portrait be the newborn baby face  laugh

I want as many people as possible to be a part of this game, so I would like it if you posted your opinions and played the game on this topic: http://www.koei.com/community/index.php?topic=14313.0

it's in the music section, under the topic title: "If Life Had A Soundtrack

That's probably the hardest scenario on any RTK, but seriously that's just impossible.

Anyways, personally I want a challenge in the game without having to limit myself. In other words, I still want to use my created force and be challenged, it's just that the Ai isn't smart enough or creative enough to do just that.

Putting the cost of Siege equipment up crazy high is a good way to stop the AI from wasting a lot of time and resources (putting the cost up to higher then the max gold for cities effectively "disables" siege equipment)

This is technically limiting yourself, but for that one sacrifice, it really stretches the AI that much further.

The thing I'm trying to do is figure out when impossible reaches highly improbable.

If you have a group of five officers then:
1-20 is what I find as the impossible zone. 20-40 is the improbable, 40-60 is difficult, 60+ easy.

So I have played a game with 20-40 stats with five officers, no skills, Cs all around and by the end of the game I had 36 officers and those 20s were in the fifties with useful ATPs. So, while 1 is impossible it's still possible to recreate the feel that 1s would give, but give you a fighting chance.

I managed to win the Rise of Heroes scenario with 8 officers nobody had an S or was above 80 in any particular stat. I was on advanced as well. I started in Yong An. It was a real challenge.

build a created army of about 10-15 officers divide them in half by making an equal amount of civil and war officers play in the scenario where the only major forces are that of Cao Cao, sun Quan, and Liu Bei. Place the created army under wu i think its Gui Lang, then choose all of the armies,

with Shu capture all land in their region which is the nanman lands then with Wei capture all lands  in the North and with Wu transfer all officers to other cities for with your created army you  are to move them to Xiang yang or the castle below it once there built wu wei and shu up while slowly building your created force by building walls structures as camps

then send small units to get hostile relations towards Wei, wu and shu and form alliances between those three armies,

Finally you have three allied armies that hate your guts, with you right in the middle of them with only 5-8 generals and 5-8 civil officers

oh i forgot options

high battle deaths and in advance

also this is how it you officers should look

Generals
War-60 through 70's
Lead - same as war
int - 40 through 50's
pol - 0 through 20's
charm - 0 through 50's

Strategist
War- 0 through 20's
lead - 40 through 50's
Int - 60 through 70's
Pol - same as int
Charm - 0 through 50's

Also every time their alliance breaks renew it

i havent been able to beat this only capture 4 castles

which at times are Shang Yong , Xin Ye, Jiang Lin or Jiang Xia
