I've beaten the Rei Story and Kenshiro Story.

I think I'm going to Toki next.......
I'm assuming you have to beat Toki's story to unlock Raoh because I don't have him unlocked yet......+_+.....

Has anyone tried "Boss Battle Mode"?
I've only tried fighting against Jagi in that mode and it's hard as heck!......

I'm curious - since you've played the game, what are your thoughts on the game? Is it worth it? Does it represent the Hokuto No Ken universe very well?

I'm so sorry for the late reply, I didn't think I'd get any replies here so I just kind of not come to this forum anymore. lol XP

It's totally worth it for me, because I'm a Hokuto no Ken fanboy.

As far as representing the Hokuto no Ken universe. The game follows the story almost exact to the manga/anime
The reason why I say -almost exact- because there are a couple of parts in the game that didn't quite happen the way it did in the manga/anime.

----!!!!SPOILER!!!!!-----
One part that really stands out to me is during Kenshiro's story, you fight Yuda...
Which didn't make any sense to me and to my memory Kenshiro never fought Yuda in the story.....+_+.....unless I just forgot about it?

As far as representing the characters. I say the game does it very well....all the characters you can play as are OVER POWERED(especially REI)! lol

Now even though you're very over powered, the game still has its challenges if you can call it that....
For example, later in the game you'll come across an enemy who wears armor with spikes on it....you cannot simply hit that certain enemy....he is untouchable. So, what do you do? You have to use either projectiles(if you're playing with a character who has projectile attacks) OR you simply pick up objects around you and throw it at said untouchable enemy.

The main challenge I would have to say will be the bosses but that's it.
So, that being said, again the game is very much like the actual series considering the thugs never gave Kenshiro any trouble and the main villians were the only people who came close to making Kenshiro breaking a sweat....

I haven't played with Mamiya so I can't comment about her.
I have played with Rei, Kenshiro, Toki, and Shin. Like I said, the characters are over powered just like in the series which is what I love.
Though, in my opinion, Shin is a little too slow for my taste.....maybe I need to level him up some more.

Now as far as character special moves and all that good stuff.
Some moves are much more over exaggerated/flashy then in the actual series, but I'm ok with that because Koei always makes all their games flashy, it's what they do.

Personally, I'm a fanboy of Hokuto no Ken but I'm not a purist or anything so I absolutely love this blasted game. I personally have no complaints against it.

There's a lot of replay value.
With each character that has their own story mode. You can go back to replay any chapter that you've already beaten. In other words, you can keep on leveling up until you max out one of your characters and then go through their story mode again and destroy everything that you look at......

Anyways, I hope this helps, I'm sorry but I'm not so good at writing reviews for games....I mainly don't know how to structure a review.

I have completed story mode of Kenshiro, Rei, Toki, and I'm going to finish Mamiya's story too soon or later it will be done. after that I'll finish the legend mode of every character.
I've had the game from last week until now I don't play any other game than this game. It's a really good awesome game.

Yes and No....

If you want the full story to Hokuto no Ken then the answer is no, because this game is only a condensed summary of what happens between -Volume 1- through the first 2 Chapters of -Volume 16- of the manga series.
And the series goes up to 27 volumes of manga......

Also, for anyone who does not know anything about Hokuto no Ken.....I do not recommend getting the Japanese version of this game......you more than likely would not understand what's going on.......So, you're better off waiting on the American release.

A definite YES! if you're looking to get into the Hokuto no Ken series then this game is a great start to learning about the series! As I've mentioned before in my review of this game, this game follows the serie's story line almost word for word but shortened a little bit.

This game has a lot of fun factor and replay value. It's not everyday that you get to play as a character who runs around punching people in the face causing their heads to explode....in other games you usually have to use a weapon to cause someone's head to explode. XP LoL

If you don't have the time to read the manga or watch the anime, this is a good game to play to get most of what the Hokuto no Ken story is about.
(at least the story of the first part of the series that is....)

I'm hoping Koei will release Hokuto Musou 2 to finish up Volume 16 through Volume 27 of the series.

Anyway, I highly recommend you reading the manga for the story. It has beautiful artwork that gets progressively better throughout the series and you get all the details of what the story is all about from beginning to end.

If you can't get ahold of the manga than the next best thing would be the anime and you're in luck because a company called Discotek will be releasing 4 DVD box sets of the whole Hokuto no Ken(aka Fist of the North Star)series here in America.

The first DVD box set is being released on the 29th of this month actually.....

*removed*

They have almost all of it...missing the part right after Amiba dies, up to the part where Kenshiro scares Raoh's horse with his Ki.

Boss Mode is hard!

Unless I'm doing something wrong, it takes like 10 minutes with Ken to beat Jagi and 5 minutes with Raoh.

-Jagi takes forever coz he keeps jumping off to burn you.
-Shin can sometimes wipe you out with just one combo!

I've gone as far as Raoh with Ken but died 10 seconds later.

What type of rating are you asking about? Rating as in mature rating? Or how many stars rating this game got?

Content Rating is:

My Japanese copy says, Cero D 17(and then a bunch of kanji to the side of the number 17).
I think I can safely assume that Cero D 17 is the same rating as M for Mature 17+
It kinda makes sense since people in the game either explode or gets cut up into a bloody mess....

For how many stars this game got rating:

I never read any of the reviews for this game because being a huge Hokuto no Ken fan I just got it the day is was released in Japan and played the mess out of it.

So MY personal rating for this game is: 7 out of 5 stars.   Cool

You've certainly done better than me. I've only tried fighting Jagi with Ken about 3 times and kept losing.
I haven't gone back to Boss Mode yet.....I think I'm going to level Ken up some more before going back to this mode...

Have you maxed out all of Ken's stats?
I don't think I'll max anyone out until I pick up the American version.

The European age rating is 18......so that should be M for Mature (in theory)
