Zetta seems to be busy with other things,so I will post something I discovered.

Detailed Officer editing

I will not mention the things Zetta has found out. So if you want to know how to edit the name,stats and APTs of the officers,just look at the second post of the topic. They will still appear on the screenshots just so that you don't get confused by those numbers and can sort the things better. I will use Lu Bu in Rival Warlords in this.

We will use this picture as refference:
http://img257.imageshack.us/i/rtkeditoffi.png/

Name

This is the Name,Lu Bu as you can see. Look at Zetta's second post to learn how to edit it,though it's not that hard...

Portrait

The portrait is made by two bytes, eb 03 here. This is Lu Bu's old portrait,the young portrait is 03 00. I don't know the numbers of every single portrait,but if you want to change Lu Bu's to let's say Liu Bei's,then simply search for Liu Bei and take his numbers.

Location

These 5 bytes are the location of the officers. 0a is the district number (Zetta explained how to get it in his posts) and 0b 00 is the city. You actually only need the first number,that means 0b ,as the second will always stay 00. The first 0b 00 is the service city,the second is the current location (the officer will be in another city for example if he is sent on a diplomatic mission or so,and that's the current location). For a list of all city codes,look at the first post here,there's a link.

Officer status

This number is for the officer status. Here it's 00.
00 = Sovereign
01 = Viceroy (of the district)
02 = Prefect (of the city)
03 = Officer
04 = Free officer
05 = Prisoner
06 = Underaged
07 = Searchable
08 = Dead
ff = Not availabe (This have only special officers like the Emperor)

Officer rank

This is the byte for the Officer rank. Numbers can be found here.

Loyalty

This is the loyalty. 64 is 100. For a list of all numbers,look at Stats.

Deeds

These are the bytes for the deeds. I don't know exact numbers,you can mess around a bit or copy them from officers who have as much deeds as you want to give that officer (just look in game on their deeds and then take their bytes).

APT

These are the bytes for the APTs. Zetta has already explained how to edit them.

Stats

These are the bytes for the stats. LDR,WAR,INT,POL and CHR from left to right. Here's a list for you to see what hexdecimal number which stat number is.

Wow ! Thank you very much for your contribution Hero Of Chaos !! You've discovered pretty interesting things I see. We may for example play the Emperor. And you also found all those skills. Good job, really !

(((And yes, I'm a bit busy lately, having university exams in may, I have a lot of work to do. Still passing by sometimes to take a look.)))

I'm curious, how do you make officers immortal?

That's impossible. Or do you mean by editing their lifespan? That could be done,but I'm not sure if you can let them live longer than 99 years.

So,as I can't edit my post because of post length,here is the list with ranks:

Officer rank (list)

00= Prime Minister
01= Chief Minister
02= Chief Officer
03= Senior Minister
04= Minister

35= S Sub-officer
36= W Sub-officer
37= N Sub-officer
38= Administrator

42= Chief Retainer
43= Retainer

4a= Agric. Advisor
4b= Vassal
4c= Officer
4d= Officer
4e= Officer
4f= Officer
50= None

Liked officers

These 10 bytes stand for the liked officers,two bytes each. Don't know their codes however.

Disliked Officers

These 10 bytes stand for the disliked officers,two bytes each.

Dates

These 6 bytes stand for the dates.
b8 is the Availabilty date (the year the officer becomes available).
9c is the year of birth.
c6 is the year of death.

Spouse

These two bytes stand for the spouse. As I've already said,I don't know the officer codes. The byte in front of that may be the sex,while the bytes after that up to the Liked Officers may stand for sworn siblings,but I'm not sure.

Parents

These bytes stand for the parents. The two bytes on the left stand for the father,the two on the right for the mother.

Sworn Siblings

These two bytes stand for the sworn sibling. It's a bit tricky as you can only insert one officer. If you want to have 3 Sworn Siblings,then simply put the name of one officer in these bytes of each officer. For example,you want that Cao Cao,Sun Quan and Yuan Shao are sworn siblings. Then simply put Cao Cao's bytes in the sworn siblings bytes of each of the three officers (yes,even in Cao Cao's).

Compatibility Score

This byte is used for the compatibility score. Here,it's 91 (meaning 145). Created officers don't have this score as such,they have "Close Friend" instead (which will give them the score of the officer you chose as close friend). Lu Bu has the score 145 as said above. This means that officers who have the same score or a score near 145 will be easier to employ for Lu Bu and will not lose loyalty that quick (it may also raise above 100,but that's also determined by behavior and such).

I'm not sure what you mean by impossible, The RoH scenario has no predestined timelimit for officers. It just has 100 years of play.

Hm,I'll have to take a look on the RoH file. Perhaps I can tell you then how to do this.

By immortal,I thought that they'll never die,regardless of what happens.

Besides Execution and battle deaths? Besides those, they are technically immortal.

I think I've found the officer codes.

Unfortunately, it's not easy to get the one for who you want; the code is simply the order the officers are listed in on the file, starting at 0 for Ahui Nan.

For instance, Yuan Shu is the 17th on the list, and his son, Yuan Yao, has 10 (the hex number for 16, since 0 is used for an officer) for his father entry. For another example, 62 is used for Guan Suo and Guan Xing's father entry, and also Xu Huang's Liked Officer entry. However, it doesn't seem to appear in Liu Bei's entry, so it seems Sworn Brothers are recorded differently.

Also, I believe I have found the compatibility score: it seems to be directly before the "Liked officer" entry. For instance, Liu Bei has 4b (75, which is his compatibility score), while Cao Cao has 19, which also applies to his of 25.

The compatibility score thing makes sense. I've wondered where it is,but didn't find it. I didn't even think that it could be there,although it makes sense (when creating an officer,Close Friend comes before Liked Officers as well (Close Friend determines compatibility)).

Yeah,the sworn sibling thing confuses me as well. Sometimes I thought that I found out where the number for each officer is,but then I saw that other officers don't have "their" number at that place. Maybe we'll find out sometime.

@scholar: Well,then you'll have to edit their lifespan to whatever you want. Sorry if I didn't say it properly. I'll take a look how it's done in RoH when I have time,probably on Wednesday.

Hm,I'll have to take a look on the RoH file. Perhaps I can tell you then how to do this.

I believe it's basically just that scenario setting for lifespans. I could've sworn that if you select Fictional in any scenario, it removes ages for all officers...what I would be more interested in is if officers can be born after 250. The game isn't really functionally playable beyond around 290, but some interesting historical officers could be created to flesh it out for the masochist player who wants to wait 50 years to see events unfold.

-----

I do have a very minor request for creating my own scenarios. I've been looking over the scenario starting layouts and think I could achieve what I want with very minimal fuss for most of the scenarios, but it would require establishing a created officer as a ruler over an existing historical ruler. I figure I would have to do it myself for it to work properly, but would have to be heavily guided through the process...

I *think* the Fictional lifespan option simply makes everyone live to 99, but they'll die at that point--their Age is still listed, at least, and I think they just become ** in Rise of Heroes. I'm not positive, it'd take a while to test it.

Also, I've found what seems to be a reliable way to get an officer's number (or, done in reverse, to figure out who a number refers to). It requires a hex to decimal converter, and preferably a calculator because, although it's no more complicated then subtraction and division, it's with BIG numbers.

Ahui Nan, as the first officer, starts at 00006d63. The decimal value of this is 28003. Find the location of the first letter of the desired officer's name, and note the byte value. For this example we'll use Lu Bu--0001f543. Get the decimal value (128323) and subtract 28003. This gives you the difference between the two (100320). Then divide by 152--this should give you the officer's position (660). The hex for that is 294. Checking Lu Lingqi, her father's number is 94 02. However, my editor, atleast, reads larger values right to left--so it is indeed 294.

It also worked for Cao Cao, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Pang De, so it seems to work pretty well, though I'm unsure how useful this will be for anyone. I did learn some interesting things, though
*Zhang Zhao dislikes Bu Zhi in the game.
*Sun Quan dislikes Zhang Zhao, but that has some basis, atleast, even if I think that's going too far).
*Cao Cao dislikes LOTS of people, including Zhu Ling.

For me, that only leaves AP cost and Deed requirements for ranks (the other stats for Ranks is in Scenario.s11, but that doesn't seem to be)--anyone else found either of those?

Actually... living to 99 would still require 15 years of "not-playable" for being underaged. And I've played a full 100 years meaning if they died at 99 they should all be dead before 351...

I think he's referring to my suggestion about other scenarios being just like RoH with lifespans on Fictional, which was incorrect. RoH is special in that regard.

Can this all be done the same way with the PUK version?  Because I have been wanting to do some scenario editing big time.
