I know many people are hoping for a Kessen 4 to be made.  I would love to see the original Kessen be re-released on the PS3 platform with some updates.

The basic game :
         No changes to story.
Update the graphics to HD quality.
Include control of characters during duels.
         Weapon selection for generals (sword/spear)

Unlockables/Updates :
Upon completion you can play as either side (same as original)
You can select any general from either side for any battle.
Set troop size for each general (you have a set pool of troops to pull from)
Custom general/troops (they start at 1000 and grow based upon wins/losses)
         Custom maps/campaigns
Online player vs player (original campaign/custom campaign)

Optional bonus changes/additions :
Increase the size of maps (makes fatigue a larger factor and troop movement)
Increase the number of deploy points on maps
Increase the number of ambush locations on maps
Add special maneuver Build Fortification (fort adds defense but decreases offense)
Bonus campaign – Japan invades Korea

I loved the original Kessen.  It was a great strategy game that is still fun to play.  I was never happy with Kessen II or III, they are more arcade games then strategy.  I know that bringing the original Kessen to the PS3 with a few add-ons would prove to be a huge success.  The custom maps and generals alone would make this a phenomenal game.

Now is there anything I've missed?  How else could we upgrade/improve this game for the PS3 without compromising the integrity of the game?

To be Honest i still have the original kessen with me but i never knew how to plan at the beginning and stuff so i just simply moved to closer to enemies and set off 1.000.000 barrages Cheesy i liked the simulation . .

better everything of course :p . . but im not sure about having a pool of soldiers in which you could distribute to Officers from .. it's better off with "each Level gained improves an officers leadership, thus troops controlled increase in number" or something like that . .

If by custom general/troops you mean organize and create them yourself then . . im not so sure it's a good idea with Kessen,

custom maps/campaign shares the same opinion as  the above sentence .

online would be cool .

favorites ---> 1.Kessen II - - - 2.Kessen III - - - 3.Kessen I

I like this idea alot actually. Though I don't know if a full relase would be worth it. What might be worth it is a Kessen Collector's Edition with Kessen IV. Say 89.99 Get's you Kessen 1-4. I would pick that up in a heartbeat.

Hoping for a rework of 1 + building a new game isn't likely to happen.  However what might work is this.

Kessen - reworked and updated
+
Kessen2 - upgrade graphics to HD
+
Kessen3 - upgrade graphics to HD, include all bonus material (items from Enjoy disc + generals gained from loading a save of Samurai Warriors/SW XL)

The success of God of War Collection (1&2) for PS3 proves that this type of thing would be a huge success.

I believe that if Koei would essentially remake the Bladestorm game, formatted to the Kessen 3 storyline including elements of those strategy and war room components, it would be a pretty sweet game. I would buy that for sure.

What would be even more nice is if Koei released a Koei Classics disc for Xbox 360/PS3.  The disc would include Kessen 1,2, and 3.  All previous RTK's and NA titles as well.

I have to agree with you Kessen Gold is great idea...why not make a HD collection like they are making for other titles. Because i miss those titles, and being able to play them on my PS3 Cry
