I don't really like most of what they've done the last 25 years, but Kill 'em All and Ride The Lightning were great albums.

Love some Metallica, and the impact they've had on metal is amazing, truly legends of metal.

Hellz yeah!! I don't see why many people talked down on it. Sure there were no solos and the sound was muddy but the song and passion is definetly something that cant be imitated. At first I didn't like it but after jamming Frantic and invisible kid, I fell in love. My fav songs are Some kind of monster, sweet amber, and the unnamed feeling. Good stuff to learn to play too since u dont have to spend five years trying to nail cramp inducing hammett solos!

Huh^LOL, St. Anger was one of the biggest fails of all time! I'm glad Metallica went back to what they do best with Death Magnetic. Alot of good music came from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 80s though, Metallica obviously being the most successful and influential.  Grin

@Ma chao99: You must be a fan of Megadeth then...lol

I dont see how it's awful. If anything, Load was awful. I wouldn't even call that metal. It sounded way too country. St Anger was just an expessive album and I think it was pretty good once you got used to the sound. It was just a step in a different direction. Going multi platinum also helps to show that it wasn't that bad.
