Using Overdive since 2013!

« on: December 22, 2009, 01:40:50 pm »

This is one of the games I'm most looking forward to for the PS3 next year, just wondeirng who else is looking forward to this game? For those who don't know it's made by Quantic Dream (who made Indigo Prophecy for PS2,Xbox and PC) and it basically involves a lot of QTE's.

I would have to look into it first. But apperantly if you don't reserve the game, then that means that you won't get to enjoy the full gaming experience compared to others that actually do go and reserve it. I don't know what that's all about.

I doubt the game will be bad. Indigo Prophecy wasn't a bad game at all.

Yes that's right. Hmmm... So all it is, is just Downloadable Content? Then why did I see them saying that? I can't recall where I seen that but it was said that your best bet was to reserve the game. Ranger Ryu your most likely right. Some people can over think these days. Hah!! Hah!!

Quote
The Heavy Rain Chronicles

First of all, I’m pleased to confirm that Heavy Rain will be supported by some very interesting downloadable content – The Heavy Rain Chronicles.

These are a series of additional, fully-playable scenes, where you’ll learn more about the backstory of some of the characters you’ll meet in Heavy Rain itself. The first episode will centre on Madison – and the setting will be familiar to those of you who have been following the progress of Heavy Rain closely…

Heavy Rain: Chronicle One – The Taxidermist sees Madison Paige investigating a suspicious and reclusive taxidermist, and finding herself unexpectedly in grave danger.

The episode is an expansion and update of the original ‘Taxidermist’ demo that received such a positive response when shown at E3 and gamescom last year.

Chronicles One and Two will be available for download from the PlayStation Store after the launch of Heavy Rain early next year – although there will be some opportunities to get hold of the episode a little earlier.

And there it is there. Nice find there Ranger Ryu. Well the game sounds very promising as well as interesting indeed. So it just might turn into a must have game for me.

Looking forward to eventually getting it, if it does well then we might see a new genre developing. Mind you, I thought that of Fahrenheit

I played the demo an I must say that the game graphics and the story were strong however there is one scene where you have to take out an inhaler with consists of pressing 15 different buttons just to get it to the characters mouth, annoying.

Enjoying the minor characters of history

« Reply #10 on: May 03, 2012, 03:42:01 am »

Finished Heavy Rain two days ago.

Really really good at the heart thumping- adrenaline rushing scenes, usually fights or some other quick moving event, so much so that I was grateful it was so lenient if I failed to spot the button press. Storyline had many twists and was fun, only one character I disliked though only a few I actually liked, the kids voices jarred a bit but the rest of the voice acting was good. I liked the ability to quickly load up so you can try something again, the balance between split second decisions that forced instinct to be used and those that gave you time to consider what course of action you should take. My motivations for each decision could change and I liked having to think. The puzzles were usually fun, the game made me feel like I needed to be careful for whatever I did would have consequences. The emotional moments were hit and miss, some were brilliantly built up during the scene and carried a punch but others just didn't work for me.

I wish there were a few more games like it.
