Okay, what do you want to know about the story?

I'll ask a question to see if anyone knows the answer.

Odysseus and Diomedes snuck into the Trojan camp. They ran into a Trojan by the name of Dolon and killed him. Then they snuck into the camp and killed what important figure? They also stole something- what was it?

Answer: Diomedies killed King Rhesus of Thracia, and then they took his horses that pulled his chariot.

Correct!

Harder question: Penthesilia and the Amazons joined the Trojans in battle. They were pushing the Acheans back pretty well. During the fight, the queen killed a notable Argive general- who was it?

My copy only notes one Argive by name, Molion.

Penthesiia, had a weapon given to her by a goddess. What kind of weapon, and who gave it to her? (you should have no problem with this one)

My copy says your half right. A double axe, given to her by the Goddess of Discord. Eris.

She did kill him, but the general/commander she killed was Podarces. He was the brother of Protesilaus, the first person killed in the war.

During the assault of the Acheans foritifications, 2 Argive generals exited one of the gates and closed it behind them. They fought bravely against the Trojans by themselves until their death which was described by Homer as 2 great oaks falling. Name them.

Thanks Ajax, that makes sense to me. My copy says she slashed at him but was too late to save her friend that he lanced through the hip. Which apparently mean't she killed him. That was a tough one, because he is only mentioned to be a commander very early in the poem. Cool, that was a tough one.

As for the question. Are you refering to Polypoetes, and Leonteus that stood at the gate like tall oak mountains when they hurled themselves at the Trojans about to overcome the Argive defenses before the ships?

He is described in my book as the mighty brother of Protesliaus, and that he took over command after his brothers death. I knew I had read a translation that specifically mentioned she killed him instead of a slash, but the book I had said the same as yours. I checked the reference in the back and it mentions that he was, in fact, killed by the Amazon Queen.

Good job on the those two. I couldn't remember the exact comparison, and you still got it. Props man, you seem to know the poem pretty well.

Hit me with a question.  Smiley

Too easy. Iphigenia, sacrificed to Artemis because Artemis demanded it since Agamemnon pissed her off and she wouldn't allow a wind to sail the fleet., Iphigenia was sent to the Army by a letter saying she was to be wed to Achillies.

Strange thing is Achilles was already married, but in secret. Who to?

Deidamia the daughter of Lycomedes king of Scyros. They had a son together named Neoptolemus or Pyrrhus.

The prophetess Cassandra had a brother. What was his name, and what feature was it about him that made him different (and superior) to Cassandra?

She had 19 Brothers and 3 sisters. Hector being the most notable, but she also had a brother that was a soothsayer, his name was Helenus. Your question is too vague. Give another clue to which brother you mean?

Sorry, I meant to say twin brother. That should clear it up a bit more.
