I agree with the reminder that we are average guys. I can't produce a sound like Axel Rose, Stephen Tyler, or Freddy Mercury. They were one of a kind. It would sound completely different.

You are right It's not like I have a drum set like neal peart or like lars ulrich,but like I said before this is just for fun.We can't go big without having some gigs or concerts

You seem to be underestimating youtube. People make a living off of producing videos strictly for youtube. Gigs and concerts are good income, but in the technology age there are new ways to turn a profit.

I would like to see this as professionally done as possible.

I have been doing alot of speed metal practice. I got a new guitar with custom pickups put on it just for this. I will post a pic once it's done. It doesn't matter what song we pick. You guys pick. I just wanna keep rock strong as long as I can. For the love man!

So then Green Day's American Idiot is the first pick. Great. The easiest thing to do is have Crow make a recording of him playing the drums in the song.

In the mean time we can all practice our different part. No rush Crow. If it takes you a month, it takes you a month.

I know this song, but I will still be practicing my singing to go along with it.

MM24, you aren't opposed to this being our first selection?

After this post I think I'm gonna make a new thread. This is still the Do You Play thread, which really should be reserved for if you play an instrument.

Figured today I would bring out the old Technics SL Turntable and give it a few scratches, flares, crabs and orbits. And I still got it in me, although I need to work more on my Hamster style!  Cheesy

How come no one told me about this thread ._. ive been left out. Ive been drumming since my infant days. I would play rythms with my hands on objects before i learned to walk. I have since taken private drum lessons for over 12 years. In that length of time i also learned the art of piano, and vocal jazz. Im in the vocal jazz group at my school, and we won 1st place in reno jazz festival for our section of the fesrival, and was the vocal jass ensemble picked to perform in front of everyone in attendence for the final big performance.

Drumming is where my heart is at though. I listen to taiko drumming all the time, particulary the group Kodo.

Also, my father is an original member of the band called Fishbone, and they were a big hit in the 80's. His alias was Dirty Walt. I'd be surprised if anyone here's heard of him though. From this connection we are friends with other bands of note. The red hot chili peppers are good friends of ours. Flea has knkwn me since i was a baby, and he is the one that hooked me up with the private lessons i mentioned earlier.
At one point in time, fishbone and janes addiction, with other bands too, lived under the same roof in their stages of development.
