The series aired in '85 and has appeared in Super Robot Wars several times. I don't want to give too much away since there aren't actually that many characters in the series.

I can't believe that, I actually had a Guts avatar for a while and I didn't get it. Still, I didn't get that far in the anime, Guts had only just ridden with the Band of Hawk once when I left off near the start, but a quick search proves it to be

I've finished the anime a few times over myself as it's one of ym favs. I wouldnt mind reading the manga for the exploits after the events of the anime, but alas I usually spend my money on other stuff...like other naime, lol.
