Time to Rest

May 20, 1560

My Generals fought hard at Hakodate port but in the end they were unsuccessful. Hirotsugu Nanjo defended the port with such force I had to withdraw my troops. Although we did not capture the port my troops can come back home with their heads held up high for having fought a formidable opponent. This has made me respect the Kakizaki, although our relationship with them is bad, they are still a formidable opponent with only two officers they can still defend themselves. We shall regroup and rebuilt our army for another attack for they are a thorn in my side. The way I see it the clan is weak for if we take out their port their castle will fall with such ease.

A Request

June 3, 1560

As I was surveying my fief while mounting on my horse I received news from my page telling me that the Date would wish to speak with me. I decided to leave my surveying for another day and to go attend my guest. As I approached my castle, Akimune Rusu was waiting for me. I greeted him and he surprised me by bowing down and referring me as a friend. I had never had an ally. I was not used to having an ally for all this time I was fighting off the Anto-Kakizaki alliance. I offered him some of our best tea and then asked him what the cause was for him to visit us. He then told me that his Lord wanted our aid in their attack on Yamagata Castle which is currently being held by their former allies the Mogami. I decided to accept without any terms for I am to help them attack after they are done attacking it by themselves. For I do not want them to cut off my path of expansion. Now truly the Heavens do favor us in this time of chaos for they have given my clan another opportunity.

Fortification

August 30, 1560

Today I have decided to fortify my land by sending three engineer units to construct three fortresses. Although there is no need for them at this time I feel we should built them now that we have the money in case we have some troubles in the near future.

The Date March

September 18, 1560

I have received news while supervising the construction of a Fortress that the Date clan is marching towards the Mogami. The Date clan is probably waiting for our reinforcements, They are to receive reinforcements but only after they are retreating due to the fact they weakened the castle but were unable to capture it.

Another Request

November 13, 1560

What is going on with the Date clan first they want me to send reinforcements to Yamagata castle as a joint attack and now they want me to defend their castle. I feel pity for the leadership of the Date clan. I will abandon my dream on capturing Yamagata castle for now. Nobuchika Kita will be in charge of the reinforcements. The fate of the Date Clan rest in his hands.

A Rank at Last

December 2, 1560

It seems that the fame of my clan and that of our achievements have reached the ears of our emperor. For he has granted me with the rank of General Liason. I will not stop until I receive the rank of Shogun.

News from the Front

December 19, 1560

I have received news from Nobuchika Kita’s messenger that he has arrived at Iwadeyama Castle. He has also informed me that they are clearly outnumbered. Our two forces combined (that of the Date and ours) make an army of about 20,000 and the Soma clan the attacking force makes an army of about 38,000. Iwadeyama castle has been damaged about half of it is standing. Nobuchika Kita does not know if he can do much but we are to come out on top.

My Son

January 1, 1561

My adopted son Nobunao Nanbu has come of age.  Now he can truly learn on how to become a future Daimyo. I also want him to become a strong samurai like my retainers although he is showing more interest in politics. I do not like the fact that he wants to follow in my footsteps for I have made many mistakes as a Daimyo. I know I can expect great things from him.

Our Troops Return Home

February 16, 1561

News are spreading fast saying that our troops have been seen entering our territory returning to Kosuiji Castle. I do not know of the whereabouts of the battle if we were victorious or failed and managed to retreat. I will go personally to Kosuiji Castle to talk to Nobuchika Kita about the outcome of the battle.

Bad Luck

February 20, 1561

Blast those Nagao fools. They have decided to attack Iwadeyama castle with a force of 30,000 men.  I know that Nobuchika Kita and his troops deserve a long rest for whatever the outcome was for the first request they faced in the last war, but since they are already on the move, I have no choice but to give them orders to head back to Iwadeyama Castle and defend the Date.

More Reinforcements

February 26, 1561

I have received Fascinating news from Kosuiji Castle. They have informed me that the Orimoto brothers are free from their duties. Also I have given the order for Mitsumune Orimoto to lead a unit of 9,500 cavaliers with his older brother Mitsurugi. I expect them to help out the Date but most importantly destroy the Nagao. Nobuchika Kita will receive his rewards when he comes back for the successful defense that I have now been informed of against the Soma and for reporting back to the frontlines without any hesitation.

Our Army is to be Feared

April 15, 1561

This day we have taught the Nagao who truly is the best cavalry clan. Our army has defended Iwadeyama castle for the second time in a row. The messenger that informed me was an injured soldier from the Orimoto’s unit. He described the battle as a loss at first. He told me that Iwadeyama castle was engulfed in flames, that troops were burning from each side. As the tides of battle were shifted he was told to retreat by the three Generals, Nobuchika Kita, Mitsumune and Mitsurugi Orimoto who are now in pursuit. I am currently laughing at those who dare attack me or my allies.

A Meeting with the Nagao

May 25, 1561

The Nagao have demanded a meeting with me over the release of their officer Kageie Kakizaki. I have no need for prisoners so I have decided to release him for some money in return. Another reason for his release was for my officers could have someone decent to fight in the battlefield.

The War God Falls and Changes His Name

June 1, 1561

During the pursuit my three generals surrounded Kagetora Nagao while he was running away with his tail between his legs. He was defeated but we were unable to capture him we made him see the power of our clan. After his humiliating defeat he changed his name to Kenshin Uesugi. Maybe he changed it because he was embarrassed at losing a battle and being surrounded in a battle he almost had beat.

mitsurugi, i log on everyday to the forum to see if there has been any activity. trust me, i look forward to reading it. but in general, i think the enthusiasm has gone down. my game (hashiba) has progressed quite well. i am about to take over the land west of the azuchi, but since there has been so little activity, not posted anything. a few more shimazu castles to capture, then i can turn my attention east. only the tokugawa, oda and uesugi are left. have an alliance with the uesugi. i have 1.5 million troops to the roughly 200k that the tokugawa and oda have. should be a quick clean up. once i clean up the shimazu.

Hello everyone, I am new here and this is my first reply,
This thread is really the first reason I joined this site, so I really would like to here more, and see events unfold by the hands of another clan and player. I can't wait to read more of the action.
