I am Greek and I know the story very well.I voted Prium{(Πριαμος)in greek }because when greeks entered Troy he fought despite his old age.

Since the Argives were putting all the males to the sword, he didn't really have much of a choice. He even begged to be killed.

I can't believe you forgot Diomedes. How could you do such a horrid thing? Well, anyways my choice is Diomedes, for a number of reasons.

1) He was the youngest of all the Achaeans and yet had the most battle experience.
2) He was a great warrior, rivaling that of Achilles.
3) He helped Odysseus steal the Palladium from Troy.
4) He wounded 2 gods and did not feel any of their wrath, other than not being able to go back to his wife (who most likely found someone else before Aphrodite influenced her).
5) Despite wounding 2 Olympians, he survived the aftermath of Troy.
6) Founded many cities in Italy after the Trojan war, and they are described in the Aeneid as prosperous and beautiful.

So yeah, Diomedes was the greatest hero in my opinion.
Not only all of this, but he led the second largest force of the Greek Kings (after Agamemnon), and was named by Nestor as wise beyond his years and like to Odysseus in his intelligence. He also beats the crap out of Aeneas each time they fight, and isn't as emotionally unstable as Achilleus.
Diomedes is pretty much the all-round man.

Since i know the Trojan War from my Junior School times, Achilles is the one who had the leading role in this war...

Hector and Agamemnon were only a side-leading role, because of love-triangle to Helena of Troy...

I'm Greek too !!!

Japan loves us, the Greek guys ! So we love Japan in return !!! Cheesy

There was no love triangle. While Helen was stolen by Paris, she went willingly. Her husband didn't care for her, but his treasure was stolen also by Paris and he lost face. If you remember the other Greek Heroes didnt care that much either, but the bold thief, was a great excuse for them to Help him save face, while enriching themselves with the plunder both on the way to Troy and the sacking of Troy.

Hector was the Greatest of all the Trojans, and the most noble. He hated Helen and Paris, and on more than one occasion ask both the treasure and her be returned. Achilles the Greatest of the Greeks, plays his part, but the focus was not on him either, but the role of the gods, and how no matter the rage, mankind, can not dismiss his destiny and thier will.

There was no love triangle. While Helen was stolen by Paris, she went willingly.

Only in some versions, in others her mind was clouded by Aphrodite, and thus Helen has no real blame in going with Paris. Also in other versions she longed to return to Menelaus, but Aphrodite would always cloud her mind. If anything, Aphrodite should take the blame.

Some people trying to make the story historic, is that Paris kidnapped her, and that she didn't actually go willingly.

But it was love triangle, according to Omiros' book. The story happened during the Trojan War and Helen wasn't involved in this war at all. Hector only had to face himself under his majesty the greatest enemy warrior of all, Paris, and later Achilles happened to be there to end this war, but he died in vain...

It's not other fiction writers, but rather different translations and manuscripts. You'll find that reading two different translations of the Iliad at the same time, each one will paint an entirely different picture.

That doesn't change the matter that it was love triangle... i remember that Helen loved Hector in some ways, besides Paris... that's why they started their epic fight and Hector died from Paris(fix me if i don't remember well)...

Hector was killed by Achilles. Achilles was killed by Paris (with help from Apollo of course. Some even say it wasn't Paris, but rather Apollo who actually killed Achilles.)

My copy of the Illiad states clearly in no uncertain terms. Apollo killed Achilles. It is found in the Chapter, the Death of Achilles, starting with the second paragraph, reading through the 4th.

Every time Paris fires his bow at a major hero in the Illiad, he either misses or wounds them, which in turn just pisses them off even more. I find it very funny Paris is even consider a Hero, the Illiad has him as a lust stuck, ---- up.
