I hate the mythology of it plus Trojans are more crafty and they keep me protected on the weekends

Fair enough.

You fool of Took! The Trojans spawn and lead to the Roman Empire, the single most powerful (questionable) empire ever to conquer the world. They lose this battle but totally come back and smash the Greeks as the Romans. Also, The Iliad totally sides with Trojans despite it being written by a Greek. The last line is dedicated to Hector not Achilles.

Gee...I wonder whom I am fighting for... Smiley.... Liu Bei of course!

The Romans built the greatest empire in the history of the world, no doubt, but them being spawned by the remnants of the Trojans is a huge stretch. If anything, the Trojans would have sailed/fled east, away from the Greeks instead of toward them. The Romans fancied a great story, such as the she wolf suckling Romulus and Remus, so one should take whatever they say with a grain of salt. It is a nice thought to believe that the Romans came from the Trojans, but there is no rock-hard proof that the Trojans even existed in the first place.

Grimthresgo is refering to a legend that IS in the mythos of the founding of Rome. Try, looking up the legend of Aeneas. You might be surprised.

I know about the myths of Aeneas and the founding of Rome. I was strictly speaking of fact based and provable comparisons between the Greeks and the Trojans. Excuse me for blurring myth and reality together. I would love to believe that the founders of Rome are indeed descendants of Aeneas, but there is no real proof to back it up. If we are talking about myths by themselves then the Trojans are equal to, if not better than the Greeks considering the role they played in the founding of Rome, which is the greatest empire of all time, in my humble opinion.

I think it's wrong to say that Aenas wasn't ancestor of Romans ,because there is so many detailed books of how he travelled to sicily ,besides ancient mythology is quite a history, because in my opinion historicans of those days was poets and they there writing in diferent maner then now day historicans ,so it's hard to say what is myth and what is fact .Examine heroes like Theseus ,Jason and many more who found a great cities and most of historicans agreed that they are no mythological characters ,but real historical figures ,so why Aenas couldn't be a real figure?
Now on topic ,i would play for greeks because they have more renowned heroes ,and i believe my first choise woul be odyseus or Ajax :)depends on who will be playable from the start

That's only one way to do it. There are other ways, think about it. Wink

I'd like to fight against Achilles at least once, just so I can hack his tendon to bits.  Otherwise I'd side with Odyseus (spelling?).

And to follow, another way to build an empire, instead of conquering, is to assimilate through the spread of your own culture.  Isn't that how the Romans operated, at least in part?  (If so Japan's doing a fine with with video games and anime vs the U.S. lol)
