I loved PTO 2 as a kid but wasn't impressed with 4. But with all these new consoles, sick graphics and technology just picturing a PTO 5 like 2 but in today's PC or PS3 format just gets me excitied!!! But to bad it'll never happen even if it probably would smoke all these other half made war games that r out there now.

I would love to see a PTO5 come out for the PC.  This franchise is amazing (I never had the chance to play 4) but I think they could take the suggestions for fixing 4.. incorporate all the indepth quality that made PTOII such a classic and it would be great.  PLEASE!

I wish I could really playing PTO4, because I played it on my friend's PS2 (in his home too, because I don't have PS2). I'd played little by little, but the gameplay made me like it. After I read this thread, maybe I'll try to find and download PTO2 on emulators (because I'd felt that the senior-gamers 'recommending' it  Grin ).

The PTO5 Petition??? That's no need to ask!!! I'M IN!!!

PTO IV Looked really cool, but the game play was so bad!!!! PTO V would be awesome if they want to update it to todays' grafix. Although I can't find anyone making turn based stratagy games anymore. I hate RTS! Too bad for us.

Somehow just noticed that Koei released a Romance of the Three Kingdoms for iPhone (Yeah, I know, I'm late to the game here).  I wasn't a big RTK fan back in the day, but LOVED PTO II.  Man, I used to spend like 10 hours straight playing that with a friend of mine back in high school.

Anyone think that the iPhone/iPad would make for an attractive platform for a "PTO Touch" for Koei any time soon?  Seems like a great idea.  They've obviously skilled at making games for the iPhone, it would be semi-low investment since the App store would take care of distribution, and the "touch" metaphor seems to fit in very well with PTO.

Gosh, how great would that be?

Never got into the early pto's but I enjoyed PTO IV.  I'd definitely buy a PTO V.

I registered just so I can say

SIGN ME UP FOR PTO 5!!!

Dad and I, 65 and 45, play PTO 2 for HOURS. It is an awesome game, even now.
While we're playing, the one not doing Orders leaves the room so that Plans and Headings aren't known until it's too late. With Internet play it would go so much faster.

Thanks for your time. :-)

I to have enjoyed  the PTO series.  I still play PTO IV even now.  My children have many many XBOX games and I do play them, but  PTO 4 is my first choice.  I would really enjoy a new PTO game.

I am down for a PTO5 petition only if the game is nothing like PTO 4.  I prefer the PTO 1 and 2 type gameplay.  Even if it is in 2D.  PTO 4 reminds me too much of Battlestations Pacific which was a horrible game.  PTO 1 and 2 had heavy strategy elements and was fun.

The crazy thing is I remember playing PTO 1 as a kid.  I had no idea back then who Koei even was.  I just enjoyed playing the game in its entirety.

Another entry in this series would be great. I'd like to echo the preference of others to see gameplay closer to PTO 2.

In the meantime, I'd love to see PTO 2 released for the Wii's Virtual Console.
